Privacy Policy
At Vauchly, we respect your privacy. This Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal data when you use our mobile application. It applies to all users, whether you are a Client (someone hiring talent) or a Talent (someone offering services). Vauchly is strictly for persons 18 years and above.

1. Who We Are
Vauchly is a job posting and hiring platform that connects Clients with Talent across various professional categories.

2. Legal Basis
This Privacy Policy is issued in compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023 (NDPA), the General Application and Implementation Directive (GAID) 2025, and international best practices.
3. Data We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
- Identity & KYC Data
- Full legal name, NIN, date of birth, gender, passport photograph, government-issued ID.
- Contact Data
- Email address, phone number, state/city of residence.
- Professional Data
- Skills, qualifications, portfolio, work history, ratings, job postings, bids, and proposals.
- Financial Data
- Bank account details or mobile money information, transaction history.
- Platform Usage Data
- Device information, IP address, geolocation, log data, and session information.
- Communications Data
- In-app chat messages and support correspondence.
4. How We Collect Your Data
We collect your personal data directly from you when you register or use the platform, automatically through cookies and usage tracking, and from third parties such as identity verification partners and NIMC for NIN validation.
5. Why We Use Your Data
We process your data only where we have a lawful basis under the NDPA, including for account registration, KYC verification, connecting Clients with Talent, payment processing, fraud detection, dispute resolution, platform improvement, and regulatory compliance.
We do not use your NIN or biometric data for any purpose beyond identity verification and KYC compliance.
6. In-App Chat Data
All chat messages on Vauchly are stored on our secure servers. We do not routinely read your private chats. However, chat records may be accessed in cases of dispute resolution, fraud investigation, legal obligation, or platform safety.
Chats are retained for 24 months from the date of the last transaction or dispute, after which they are securely deleted.
7. Data Sharing
We may share your data with NIMC for NIN verification, payment processors, cloud hosting providers, identity verification partners, legal/regulatory authorities, and dispute resolution arbitrators.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
8. Data Retention
- Active account data: For the duration of your account.
- KYC and identity data: 5 years after account closure.
- Transaction records: 6 years.
- Chat data: 24 months from last transaction or resolved dispute.
- Inactive accounts: Deleted or anonymised after 12 months of inactivity.
9. Data Security
We implement end-to-end encryption for sensitive data, role-based access controls, regular security audits, and employee data privacy training. In the event of a data breach, we will notify you and the NDPC within 72 hours of discovery.
10. Your Rights
Under the NDPA, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your data. You may also object to processing, withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) at www.ndpc.gov.ng.

11. Children's Data
Vauchly is strictly for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from persons under 18. If we discover a user is under 18, their account will be immediately suspended and their data deleted.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you via in-app notification and/or email. Continued use of the app after the update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
